about

Tue 25 November: Written and recorded for the 2014 NaSoAlMo solo album in a month challenge. Acoustic and electric guitars, voice.

lyrics

Her eyes are shining bright,
Her back curves sinuously against my hand,
She sleeps all day and prefers the night,
Her tongue has a raspy texture like wet sandpaper.

She's a furry faced, purry breather!
She loves margarine,
But she prefers milk, butter and cream,
She thinks she is the Queen,
She may well be.

She sits on the newspaper so it can't be read.
She steals food from her own bowl to eat it elsewhere.
She scrupulously ignores her special bed
And covers my chair with a layer of her hair instead.

She's a furry faced, purry breather! etc.

She likes to chase mice, birds and things,
To carry them in through the back door,
Leaves once twitchy noses and feathery wings,
Gruesome gifts lying motionless on the kitchen floor for you.

She's a furry faced, purry breather! etc.
